To win a category in the Greenpeace Electronic Survey, a product must own the four basic judging criteria. The first is power saver or power efficiency, second is the material used, next, the product should be a lifecycle product, and last is the innovation factor.

For the category of desktop there are two products that are showing the tight competition in the category, and both are a business class desktop. The first is the HP Compaq 6005 Pro Ultra Slim, the HP product wins with the score collection of 6,06 from the maximum 10 points, the Product uses materials that are free from PVC and BFR, but it is not free from the berllium, antimony and also phtalate. In the second place, there is the Fujitsu Esprimo E9900, with the total score of 5,65 out of maximum 10, its materials it uses is the losing factor, but the Fujitsu score higher in the use of power category, its score for power use is 27,8 or only 2,2 lower than the maximum score, it owns the Off Mode, Sleep Mode, and Idle Mode.
Still from the Greenpeace Electronics Survey of 2010, one of the category is for the best energy saver on the category of monitors. Monitors is also an important energy saver factor beside the desktop and the CPU. Can you guest who win the first place?

In the first place with the score of 26,6 out of maximum 30, the winner is Dell G2410H, with features like Sleep Mode and Off Mode that exceed the standards of Energy Star. In the second place, with only 0,1 difference from the number one, its the ASUS VW-247H-HF, also with an Off Mode and Sleep Mode, at maximum on power, ASUS has the lowest energy consumption of only 16,2 Watt. In the third place is the Fujitsu P23T-6IPS, this monitor consume 0 Watt in Off Mode and Sleep Mode. Next place is the HP Compaq LE19f and the Lenovo ThinkVision L2251x. This judgment is to find out which monitors is the most Eco friendly.

The Fujitsu are well known with their commitment in developing an Eco friendly products, their latest Eco friendly product is the M440 ECO, a mouse that uses biodegradable materials as its cover plastics. The plastics are made from a biodegradable arboform and also biograde, these two materials looks like your common plastic materials, but it comes from a renewable raw materials to make it unravel easily.

The two materials are made from other companies outside the Fujitsu, the arboform are made from lignin, a side product from the Tecnaro paper industry, the biograde were produced by FkuR, it is mainly a wood fiber. These materials and other materials of the mouse are free from hazardous material like the PVC. But notice also that not all materials contain inside the mouse are 100% recyclable, materials of the optical sensor, PCB and transistor has metal materials within them, so its not 100% renewable.
