RIM introduced their tablet computer sophistication that could actually be a police ‘assistant’. With the embedded technology and their supporting applications, the Blackberry PlayBook is more than just an internet and navigation purposes, but it can also do a lot of things.

First, the gadget that is installed in the police vehicle offers the basic functions and features of PlayBoook. It offers 7” display, fast processor, UI touchscreen, dual 5MP cameras, and a multitasking card. But its second function that were more qualified. In just one touch, it can operate the light and siren of the patrol car, able to capture and control video feed from the car’s camera, also can be used as a photo instrument. This is possible with a software called the Mobile Police Assist. This software also allows the police to get information about the car mechanics. Also, with the Bridge application, police can access the information in PlayBook from their Blackberry even being away from their patrol car. Police also have the convenience in the process of issuing ticket and scan a license plate number with the Bluetooth Radio on PlayBook. This technology enables installation of accessories like keyboard and printer. So when will this gadget be launched? The PlayBook with this many abilities is still running a test in Canada.
Nokia presents their gold plated latest phone, the C3-01 Gold Edition. Yup, this handset is the modification of the C3-01 that had long been on the market.

The C3-01 is not a smartphone, because it is still based on S40 software. However, the facility is complete in the feature phone category, this is shown by the presence of HSDPA connection and 5MP camera with Flash LED. There is a little difference in the Nokia C3-01 Gold Edition when compared to the regular C3-01, the processor sector becomes 1 GHz and the body surface is coated with 18 carat gold. The fun part is, its price is relatively cheap when compared with other gold coated handsets. The C3-01 Gold Edition is priced at ‘only’ about 220 Euros. This C3-01 Gold Edition will not be likely to visit many countries, since it is dedicated for Eastern Europe market and the Middle East.
The man behind the iPhone and iPad success which is also the founder of Apple, Steve Jobs, finally completely resign from the post of Apple CEO. Jobs has officially filled a letter of resignation. His illness seems to be Jobs main reason to let go of his position in one of the largest IT company. As known before, Jobs has been ‘on leave’ from his work at Apple because he had to take a heart transplant due to the pancreas cancer treatment he suffers from.

Jobs said the day will come where he can no longer continue his job as Apple CEO, and now the day has come. But he still want to serve Apple, if the board thinks it is still feasible, as a chairman of the board, directors, and employees of Apple. The Apple’s next CEO position will be filled by Tim Cook, who previously served as Apple Chief Operation Office.
Mozilla has released the latest version of their browser, the Firefox 6. The release is only two months after the release of Mozilla 5. There are a number of reasons to ‘level up’ to this latest version, because of the speed issue to the safety issue.

- Speed, although there is still a debate about the speed, but according to Mozilla, the Firefox 6 startup is 6x better than the predecessor. The speed gets better if users use Panorama feature. The feature enables users to arrange their tabs into groups.
- Privacy, about privacy, Mozilla takes this thing seriously in Firefox 6, where users are given the right to set location information, password, and cookies on certain sites. Users just type ‘about:permissions’ in the address bar of a desired site. By choosing a restriction as a default, users are protected from accidental visit to a bad sites and malware infections.
- URL Display, Firefox 6 fix the way URL looks in the address bar to be more concise and emphasize on the domain name. Actually, this feature is also available in Chrome and IE9. It help users to know which URL is suspicious, a phising messages in disguise.
