The cloud-based (cloud computing) storing platform, Box.net announced their cooperation with Hewlett Packard (HP). With this collaboration, the HP users will have special access to a special offer from Box, one of them is the increase of storage capacity.

For example, when users buy HP product like HP Compaq Pro 6500 or 6200 series PC, then they will receive a Box account for 10 GB storage for free. Users also have the options to upgrade the capacity. As for consumers that buy HP Elite 8200 Series PC, they will receive Box account with unlimited capacity and also a year of free synchronization. Of course, for Box, this is one of the strategy to increase their users in this business. Responding to the assumption from many people regarding the safety of cloud service, the HP representatives said that they guarantee the safety of the files stored in the cloud. Box now have 8 million users and store more than 300 million documents. In the beginning, they were merely storing files, now they are increasing their service. Box.net is now a collaborative application that enables business people to communicate about document updates, and synchronize files remotely. They can also add several features from Salesforce, Google Apps, NetSuite, Yammer, etc.
